Hey there, John! It’s Austin Davis — Pennsylvania’s Lieutenant Governor.

I'm a dad, a husband, a first-generation college graduate, and the youngest lieutenant governor in the country. But how I got here tells the rest of the story.

In Western Pennsylvania, my mom worked as a hairdresser and my dad worked as a dedicated union bus driver. I grew up always knowing what it meant to work hard and how to provide for those we love.

I was moved to make a change at a young age when gun violence occurred in my McKeesport neighborhood. Since then, civil rights leaders and many other influential figures like my parents is foundational to my dedicated career in public service. In fact, it’s core to who I am.

From being a first-generation college graduate, to the first western Pennsylvania Black American to serve as state representative outside of Pittsburgh, to now, the first Black lieutenant governor in the Commonwealth, my journey keeps going.

Just like the hard working mentality my parents instilled in me, I’m committed to using my platform to inspire the next generation — like my young daughter Harper — to dream big and make a difference.
