Hi there, it’s Deborah Ross.
Last week, the Supreme Court rejected a challenge to access to mifepristone, an abortion medication. I welcome this unanimous decision to preserve access to mifepristone. That being said, our fight to protect abortion access is far from over.
The Supreme Court rejected this challenge based on a lack of standing — leaving the door open to renewed attacks on mifepristone and women’s access to abortion in North Carolina and beyond. Unfortunately, we need to stay ready for the next attack on reproductive healthcare access.
It is ridiculous that women continue to be forced to contend with relentless threats to our reproductive health care. The future of our fundamental rights should not be singularly decided by the courts.
As your Congresswoman, I can promise you that I will NEVER give up in the fight to protect a woman’s right to make decisions about her own body and her own health care. In 2020, I ran for Congress to uphold the cornerstones of fairness, equality, and progress. And that’s why I’m running for re-election again this fall.
With attacks on abortion access spreading nationwide, I am more committed than ever to protecting reproductive healthcare access. I’m proudly running a pro-choice, pro-women, pro-democracy campaign, but I need your help to get across the finish line. Join me in this fight by making a donation of ANY amount today to support my re-election campaign:
