If you haven’t heard about the GOP’s Project 2025 “war plan,” it’s important that you know about it. This nearly 1,000-page manifesto is what Steve Bannon and other MAGA insiders call their “war plan” if they gain power in the coming elections. It’s not an idle threat.
Written by the Heritage Foundation in conjunction with nearly 100 other rightwing groups, Project 2025 details how Republicans will dismantle democratic institutions, abolish checks on Presidential power, fire tens of thousands of civil service employees across every federal agency and replace them with MAGA loyalists, gut church-state separation and – using emergency authorities like the Insurrection Act and dormant 19th century morality codes like the Comstock Act – impose a far-right social agenda that strips away civil liberties and fundamental rights.
They promise to have it all done in the first 180 days, and elements of this dystopian plan are already in motion, including a database of MAGA extremists who will repopulate the federal workforce after the mass firing of civil servants.
Democrats must have a strong, coordinated strategy to confront this threat and stop it before it’s too late.

Joined by fourteen prominent members of the Democratic Caucus, and with participation across the spectrum of our party, this Task Force will work with leading advocacy groups and experts to spotlight and explain the Project 2025 agenda, so that we can stop it in its tracks. What really worries me most about
Project 2025 is its explicit extremism – there’s nothing subtle or measured about it. It smacks of fascism and Christian nationalism to such a degree that some might think it can’t be serious. But it’s deadly serious. Orchestrated and written by a list of MAGA leaders that reads like a Who’s Who of Trump’s inner circle, and funded by Leonard Leo’s powerful dark money machine, Project 2025 is their roadmap for ending American democracy as we know it.
We know these extremists are coming fast and furious for our democracy and our rights, and we won’t be caught off guard.
This is our moment to definitively defeat the sinister MAGA movement.
