As we head into summer, we wanted to provide an update on what Ami’s been up to in DC! He’s been hard at work bringing home federal dollars to help us with projects here in Sacramento County. Check out the latest from our team:
# [#]→ Ami secured a $22.5 Million transportation grant for Sacramento County. This funding will support “Green Means Go”, a multi-year program that will lower greenhouse gas emissions and improve transportation mobility in the greater Sacramento region. It will also advance four “green zone projects” that will support neighborhoods in Citrus Heights, City of Sacramento, North Highlands and Rancho Cordova.
→ Ami also helped to secure $7.5 million in federal funding for Sacramento’s City and County Housing Authorities. This funding will help ensure more of our residents have access to a safe and affordable place to live, and support the development and modernization of public housing throughout our district.
→ Last month, Ami announced that the EPA has selected Sacramento City Unified School District for nearly $2.5 million in funding to purchase 8 electric school buses! These new buses will improve air quality, reduce greenhouse gas emissions and create good-paying jobs in the Sacramento region.
→ Ami congratulated Taiwan’s President Dr. Lai Ching-te on his inauguration. In a statement, Ami said, “I extend my warmest congratulations to Dr. Lai Ching-te on his inauguration as President of Taiwan. This moment marks a new chapter in Taiwan's resilient democracy and is a testament to the shared values of freedom, transparency, and rule of law that the United States and Taiwan uphold.”
