After bombshell reports revealed that Supreme Court Justices Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito have gone on lavish vacations paid for by billionaire GOP donors, the Supreme Court decided to adopt a new “code of ethics.” But this code is basically just the honor system – it’s unenforceable and non-binding and doesn’t strengthen the public’s trust in the Supreme Court one bit. The only way to stop the rampant corruption within the Supreme Court is for Congress to enforce a code of ethics, not just trust the Supreme Court to govern themselves.
