Extremist state House Republicans have revealed their true priorities yet again.

Taking a page out of the U.S. House of Representatives’ chaotic playbook, Reps. Eric Davanzo, Eric Nelson, David Rowe, and Ryan Warner launched an “America First of PA” caucus in the state legislature. This “caucus” will serve as a clearinghouse for a divisive agenda to roll back critical environmental protections, make it harder for Black and Brown people to vote, and prioritize tax breaks for massive corporations over the health and safety of hardworking Pennsylvanians.

Never heard of these guys? Each of these representatives scored a pitiful 0% on the Environmental Scorecard for 2021-2022 and consistently vote against protections for our air, water, and parks and forests.

If we don’t hold onto our pro-environment majority in the State House in the 2024 elections, these threats are going to become actual legislation and pass! That’s why we’re making historic investments in incumbents facing tight races and challengers who are putting their environmental platform front and center. But we can’t support these candidates without resources.

These extremists will stop at nothing to advance their anti-voter agenda. When two former U.S. Capitol Police officers who defended our democracy on January 6th testified in the State House, they were jeered and disrespected by MAGA lawmakers. 1 This behavior underscores their disregard for those who protect and serve, and their goals of tearing Pennsylvanians further apart in order to win power.

We must begin working now to ensure our challengers and incumbents in swing districts are prepared to win their races. We’ve endorsed candidates in every corner of our Commonwealth and are excited to be backing a slate of passionate, smart, and experienced leaders. Now we need to get them elected: [link removed]

Friend, every Pennsylvanian, no matter where we were born, where we live, what we look like, or how much we have, deserves to live in a healthy environment, breathe clean air, and access clean drink water straight from the tap.

We flipped the State House in 2022, and ever since then we’ve seen bills to expand clean energy production, protect people’s access to vote, and hold big polluters accountable. But those bills aren’t going anywhere in the anti-environment controlled State Senate.

We need to expand our one-vote majority in the State House and make gains in the Senate this fall so we can pass meaningful policy that will benefit all Pennsylvanians.
