We told you earlier this year that we would be reaching out with suggestions for how to talk to your friends and family about the stakes of this election.

Data shows that you – yes, you! – are the most effective messenger to talk to the people in your life about the importance of voting for Democrats this year. And with the stakes this high and the election this close, you could be the difference between winning and losing in November.

Recently, the New York Times put together a list of what Donald Trump has pledged or signaled he will do if he wins the presidency again. Here are some things on the list:

Donald Trump and his advisors will carry out mass deportations and build camps to detail migrants.

Trump has threatened to use the powers of the presidency to prosecute his political enemies, including journalists.

Trump has made it clear he’s open to upending our democratic balance of power by unlawfully expanding the powers of the president.

Trump has threatened to abuse our military’s force, including by using federal troops in Democratic-controlled cities and at the border.

Donald Trump is a threat to our nation. We know this. And we need you to talk about these specific, direct threats with the people in your life.

Many of our friends and family aren’t paying attention to the election yet. For many, the election feels far away – so it’s our job to increase the urgency and make sure they know now what the stakes are.

It’s also hard for many people to remember what four years ago was like – the fear under Trump’s first presidency, the division and hate, the systemic dismantling of our freedoms and democracy as we watched helplessly.

We cannot go back to that. We have made too much progress.

The MOST effective way to reach voters and share these messages is through YOU. That’s why we’re asking you to talk to your friends and family about what Trump will do if elected again.
