John, June is Gun Violence Awareness Month.

I’ve been organizing and fighting to end gun violence for over a decade.

What got me involved in this work was the shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School. I convinced my parents to let me go to the vigil in Washington, D.C. Meeting the loved ones of those killed in their own classrooms completely changed my life.

After that, I knew what my purpose was: to fight for a world without the constant fear of gun violence.

Since then, I’ve been fighting for the action that my generation has been demanding – both as the National Organizing Director for March for Our Lives and as the first member of Gen Z elected to Congress.

And our movement has already made incredible progress. Just last year, I stood with President Biden and Vice President Harris as they announced the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention – an office we fought to create.

But there’s still so much more work to be done. It’s going to be an uphill battle – against major forces that will stop at nothing to crush our progress.

The only time we fail is when we stop trying. So we need to keep fighting, organizing, and making noise. And I’m counting on you to keep our movement strong – both on the ground and in Congress.
