With summer here, I wanted to reach out and make sure your passport is up to date before you take an international trip. Routine passport services generally take 10-12 weeks, and expedited services take 4-6 weeks (for an additional $60 fee). You can check on the status of a passport application, make appointments, and get other travel information at travel.state.gov.

If you are in need of urgent assistance, the Los Angeles Passport Agency will work with you in person. Call my office at (562) 860-5050 for help scheduling an appointment.

And don’t forget to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP) to receive alerts and updates about safety conditions in your destination country.
