Science has confirmed what Indigenous leaders have told us for years: the most effective way to protect the Amazon rainforest is to respect the rights of Indigenous peoples and local communities who have been its stewards for generations.

One key element of that work is securing Indigenous land rights. Amazon Watch will support the Chapra people to obtain official land titles to defend their territory against external threats, especially from land-grabbers trying to settle in Chapra land to promote oil extraction. We are committed to stand with them to End Amazon Crude and permanently protect the rainforests and rivers of the Chapra territory.

GIVE TODAY TO SUPPORT THE CHAPRA'S FIGHT FOR LEGAL TITLES TO THEIR LANDS:

The Chapra's struggle is not just about land. It's about preserving their identity and way of life. Amazon Watch attended their recent assembly deep in the Peruvian Amazon, where they highlighted the pressing need for land titling. Only three out of 33 Chapra communities have official recognition, which is essential to prevent land grabbing and secure access to healthcare, education, and other government services.

To support this critical work, we need your help. Will you donate today to provide legal and logistical support to secure land titles for the Chapra and strengthen their resistance?

Thank you for your commitment to justice and environmental protection. With your help, we can support the Chapra people and End Amazon Crude!

In solidarity,

Leila Salazar-López
Executive Director

P.S. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to securing the Chapra's land titles. Please consider giving generously ([link removed]) and share this appeal with your network. Thank you!
