[Statewide, WY, June 18, 2024] – To assist water systems and residents across the state in completing an important lead service line inventory process, the Wyoming Office of State Lands and Investments (OSLI) and the Wyoming Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ) have launched a Lead Service Line Website, leadfreewyoming.com [ [link removed] ].

The Wyoming Lead Service Line Project website features a comprehensive survey designed for water customers to determine the type of water service line in their homes, along with crucial information regarding lead service lines. Additionally, the site offers water systems access to essential resources, including training materials and additional support to aid their communities throughout the Project.

This initiative is part of a broader nationwide effort requiring drinking water systems to identify and compile an inventory of material types for their system's drinking water service lines to help protect people’s health from the effects of lead. These initial inventories are mandatory submissions to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) by Oct. 16, 2024. While the inventory process deadline is Oct. 16, 2024, it is important for residents to submit their survey prior to this deadline to ensure that it is captured in the inventory.
