Dear John,
We have good news! Yesterday, a federal court temporarily blocked SF 2340 , one of the worst, most far-reaching immigration laws ever passed in the state of Iowa.
The ruling was in response to the American Immigration Council's federal lawsuit [[link removed]] to block SF 2340. The lawsuit was filed with our partners at the ACLU of Iowa and the ACLU Immigrant Rights’ Project.
The court was right to block this cruel and unconstitutional law. If it had gone into effect, Iowa officers would have been able to arrest, imprison, and deport people currently living in the U.S. lawfully.

Unfortunately, we are still seeing copycat laws and proposed measures that would cause irreparable harm for immigrant families, including in Arizona, Texas, and Oklahoma.
These types of laws create absolute chaos and human suffering. They have no place in our legal system.
Filing litigation is possible with your support. Please consider donating to help us file more lawsuits like this. [[link removed]]
Sincerely,
