Friend,
Dr. Ruba Suliman, a Palestinian Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) doctor, has been living in a shelter in Rafah, Gaza with her husband and two children after being displaced from her home.
“Every night, every day, there are airstrikes. They are targeting everybody. Nobody is safe.”
For over seven months, nearly two million people in Gaza have been forcibly displaced. They are suffering under Israeli forces’ bombardment, losing loved ones, and their homes. More than 34,000 have lost their lives. Among those displaced are 300 Palestinian MSF staff members. Still, we continue to work and provide lifesaving care despite the immense challenges.
MSF teams are working in a handful of the remaining hospitals and clinics in Gaza that are still up and running. We are providing essential medical services, including surgical care, wound and burn care, and mental health support.
When you make a gift in honor of World Refugee Day, you’ll make three times the impact helping MSF provide care Without Borders to refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, internally displaced people, and anyone in need—from Sudan to Gaza to Haiti and beyond. All
gifts made by June 21 will be matched, up to $500,000, thanks to a generous gift from Worthington & Margaret Mayo-Smith.

For Suhail Habib, MSF vehicle maintenance supervisor in Gaza, the hunger and lack of access to food is especially devastating:
“Life has not only become difficult, but it has become five times harder… We are forced to eat animal food just to survive. We are trying to survive hunger.”
Another MSF doctor shares what displacement has been like: “It is not just about the house itself, it is about losing all the small things that made you who you are: My favorite coffee cup, my mother’s pictures, the shoes I liked so much.”
Make your 3X matched gift to help MSF provide medical care to displaced people—no matter who they are or where they come from—and scale up our emergency response to address growing humanitarian needs around the world.
