President Biden Losing Support of Black Voters
Daily Wire: President Joe Biden is plummeting in the polls among black voters while support for former President Donald Trump is climbing, according to analysis by CNN senior data reporter Harry Enten. Enten said on the network on Monday morning that the most recent polling data compared to polls at the same point of the 2020 campaign show Trump “careening towards a historic performance” among black voters. The presumptive Republican nominee is up from 7% support from black voters at this point in 2020 to 21% now, according to CNN’s data. Meanwhile, Biden has fallen 16 points, sitting at 70% among black voters now compared to 86% at this point in 2020 ( Daily Wire). New York Leadership Floats Idea to Ban Facemasks on Subway Transit System
NBC: Gov. Kathy Hochul suggested banning face masks across New York’s public transit system during a public safety briefing this week due to concerns about people shielding their identities while committing antisemitic acts. It’s also during a week where huge portions of the state are under an air quality alert and NY sees its largest COVID spike in recent months. The move, she says, will help deter crime on public transit ( NBC). Associated Press: If the ban does go into effect, New York would join a growing number of states that have embraced laws against public masking to clamp down on activists who conceal their faces at protests ( Associated Press). End Wokeness: Oh, the irony. NY Governor Hochul and NYC Mayor Eric Adams plan to ban masks on subways ( X).

CNN Reporter Calls Republicans “Threat to Democracy” for Saying America is a “Republic”
Daily Caller: A CNN reporter characterized supporters of former President Donald Trump describing the United States of America as a republic as “an attack on democracy” during a segment that aired Sunday. Multiple Trump supporters told CNN reporter Donie O’Sullivan that the U.S. was not a “democracy” in man-on-the-street interviews during the segment, instead describing it as a republic. Article IV, Section 4 of the Constitution guarantees states a “republican” form of government, and historical records and documents show Founders like John Adams and Alexander Hamilton expressing skepticism about democracy ( Daily Caller). Libs of TikTok: Trump supporters correct CNN and explain that we’re not a Democracy, we’re a Constitutional Republic. CNN loses their minds and suggests that saying that is a threat to Democracy ( X).

Biden’s Revised Title IX Rule Stopped in Six New States
Fox News: A U.S. district court in Kentucky on Monday ordered the implementation of the Biden administration’s new Title IX protections halted after a West Virginia girl and a Christian Educators Association International sued after a transgender teen competed on a middle school team. A federal judge blocked Biden’s Title IX rule in Louisiana, Mississippi, Montana and Idaho last week ( Fox News). Riley Gaines: A federal court granted an injunction for the Title IX lawsuit filed by mentioned states. This is a huge win. The gender ideology house of cards is falling fast ( Fox News).

Department of Education Says Universities Failed to Observe Title VI Requirements Making Campuses Unsafe
National Review: The University of Michigan and the City University of New York (CUNY) failed to properly assess whether anti-Israel campus protests made for hostile environments for students, faculty, and staff, the Department of Education said on Monday. “OCR found no evidence that the university complied with its Title VI requirements to assess whether incidents individually or cumulatively created a hostile environment for students, faculty, or staff, and if so, to take steps reasonably calculated to end the hostile environment, remedy its effects, and prevent its recurrence,” the Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR), which investigated 75 complaints against the University of Michigan and nine against CUNY, said. The investigation’s results come after OCR has fielded dozens of Title VI complaints against universities that have failed to subdue campus protests that verged into rule breaking and, in some cases, outright criminality. Following Hamas’s October 7 attack on Israel, college students have protested on and occupied school campuses, shouting antisemitic slurs and harassing Jewish students ( National Review).

Biden Commits to $50 Million Ad Campaign Highlighting Trump as a “Convicted Felon”
Fox News: The Biden campaign released a new ad Monday morning as part of a $50 million ad blitz ahead of the first presidential debate later this month, highlighting former President Trump’s conviction, and saying “character” is the central dynamic of the 2024 presidential race. The new ad, titled “Character Matters,” highlights the verdict in New York v. Trump, when a jury found the former president and presumptive Republican nominee guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records in the first degree. Trump pleaded not guilty to the charges and has vowed to appeal the decision. The ad comes ahead of next week’s first presidential debate, which is set for June 27 ( Fox News). National Review: His campaign’s aggressive strategy will come as welcome news to some Democrats, who believe Trump’s convicted-felon status will help Biden win over on-the-fence voters. Others are urging more caution. Some House Democrats said Biden and other vulnerable down-ballot Democrats should think twice before talking incessantly about Trump’s hush-money-trial verdict on the campaign trail ( National Review).

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu Dissolves Israel’s War Cabinet
Wall Street Journal: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu dismantled the war cabinet set up to bring a unified approach to the fight against Hamas, as a top U.S. envoy traveled to the region to push diplomatic efforts aimed at heading off a wider conflict with Hezbollah on the Lebanese border. Netanyahu said he was scrapping the war cabinet, a small body that was formed at the start of the war and oversaw top decision-making, during a Sunday night security cabinet meeting, an Israeli official said. The decision followed last week’s resignation of war cabinet member Benny Gantz to protest Netanyahu’s handling of the war in Gaza. Dissolving the war cabinet lets Netanyahu avoid a potentially thorny decision of whether to bring other politicians into the group, including far-right members of his coalition. Instead, the larger security cabinet will continue to decide on matters regarding the war, and Netanyahu will hold smaller forums for sensitive matters ( Wall Street Journal). Fox News: Critics say Netanyahu’s wartime decision-making has been influenced by ultranationalists in his government who oppose a deal that would bring about a cease-fire in exchange for the release of hostages. Netanyahu denies the accusations and says he has the country’s best interests in mind ( Fox News).

Russian Warships Leave Cuba After Training Exercises
Associated Press: A fleet of Russian warships, including a nuclear-powered submarine, left Havana’s port on Monday after a five-day visit to Cuba following planned military drills in the Atlantic Ocean. The exercise has been seen by some as a show of strength by Moscow against the backdrop of tensions as U.S. and other Western nations support Kyiv in Russia’s war on Ukraine. The submarine, a frigate, an oil tanker and a rescue tug slowly departed from the port on Monday morning. It’s unclear what the fleet’s next destination is or where it will dock next in the Caribbean, although U.S. officials said days ago that the vessels could possibly also stop in Venezuela. Officials with the Biden administration said last week that they were monitoring the vessels and confirmed that they did not pose a threat to the region or indicate a transfer of missiles. Still, the United States docked a submarine, the USS Helena, at its Guantanamo Bay Naval Base in Cuba ( Associated Press).

Ukrainian officials say they have counted about 50 such missiles delivered to Russia by North Korea ( USA Today).
