GetVoting.org goes live

Apologies to all those avidly awaiting for Election Section to ping into your inbox yesterday morning, we were busy presenting our tactical voting recommendations to a room full of journalists. We promise it won’t happen again. But the good news is that GetVoting.org <[link removed]> is now live! Make sure to check it out to see who you should vote for in your area to get rid of this rotten Government and stop hard-right, Brexit-backing, populists like Farage from getting a foothold in Parliament. 

Never before

It was a busy day at B4B HQ, with the team also dropping brand-spanking-new polling and MRP analysis showing an unprecedented appetite for tactical voting in almost every constituency across Britain. That’s right. At least a third of voters in a whopping 558 constituencies say they would vote tactically to change the Government. In 234 seats this jumps to 40% and in 31 seats, more than half are ready to vote for someone other than their first preference.


Crooked contract

In much less exciting news, Reform UK Party Ltd dropped their election manifesto...oh wait, sorry…their election contract. Farage’s plans were questioned as “unserious”, given that they require £141 billion more spending. To put that number into perspective, it is three times more than Liz Truss promised in her economy-crashing, mortgage-hiking disaster of a mini-budget. Beyond this, the contract contained all the usual nasty nativist stuff and really just drove home the importance of tactical voting. An unexpected silver lining for us, I guess?

Campaign continues

For other parties, the campaign continued as normal, with visits to a range of locations across the country. This, of course, included Ed Davey who found himself on a beach in Devon building sandcastles. He really got stuck in, taking off his shoes and socks, but not before making it known that they’re “not too smelly”. Good to know!

Timely reminder

Please please please don’t forget, today is your last opportunity to register to vote in the upcoming General Election. You have until 23:59 tonight. If you haven’t already, you can do so now on the Government website <[link removed]>. And on top of that, the deadline to apply for a postal vote is 5pm tomorrow on Wednesday 19 June. Again, applications can be found on the Government website <[link removed]>.
