This week, Jim Jordan was lambasted by Chris Quinn, the editor of the Newspaper Cleveland.com, an outlet managed by USA Today, who described Jordan as “The worst villain.” The criticism stemmed from Jim Jordan’s role in holding Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt of Congress.

During the podcast, Jordan was contrasted with his fellow Ohio Republican, Congressman David Joyce – the only Republican to vote against holding Merrick Garland in contempt, who Quinn described as “principled.”

Cleveland.com is by no means a left-wing outlet and is considered to be a centrist publication – though by the standards of today’s Republican party, any outlet that isn’t all in on Trump is extreme left.

Speaking on Jordan and the hard turn to extreme-right by the Republican party, Joyce stated, “We've got to stop turning the Republican Party into a version of Hitler and get back to the kind of the centrist American ideals for which we've already stood.”

The lawfare exemplified by the vote to hold AG Merrick Garland in contempt, lead by Jim Jordan, is the newest escalation in the transformation of the GOP into a fascist party.

Moderates and independents like Quinn and Congressman Joyce are jumping ship from Jim Jordan and the Republican party. Just last week a Democrat nearly flipped a rural Ohio, working class congressional district carried by Trump in 2020 by 29 points. The tide is turning, the time to defeat entrenched Ohio Republicans like Jordan is NOW.
