The Supreme Court recently struck down a ban on the abortion pill, mifepristone. But the door was left open for Republicans to pass laws and further roll back abortion protections nationwide after the election. |
In our fight to protect reproductive freedom, it's encouraging to see that the Supreme Court recognizes mifepristone as a safe and effective medication that women have been taking for decades.
And while we breathe a sigh of relief that today the Supreme Court ruled to keep it on the market, the baseless attacks by far-right extremist anti-abortion groups will not stop here.
In just the first half of 2024, MAGA extremists across the country have worked tirelessly to take away one's right to important reproductive care, like an abortion, IVF, and contraception. And there's no doubt that the Court's recent decision will only mobilize them to work even harder to hold our bodily autonomy hostage.
This case wasn't just important for anyone seeking reproductive care – a decision against mifepristone could have had a devastating impact on doctors' ability/willingness to deliver life-saving care to their patients.
John, above all, this case paints a clear picture about the importance of supporting pro-choice voices in our community and ensuring that pro-choice voices in elected office can continue fighting to codify these rights into law, like we're fighting to do with Amendment 4 on the ballot this year.
This year, the Republican primary in our district is a race to the bottom between two anti-choice extremists. As someone who's been a loud champion for reproductive freedom for over thirty years, will you help me defend my seat against them with a donation of any amount today?
