2024 Farm Bill
Dear John,
The Farm Bill plays a crucial role in shaping influential US agricultural policy, supporting rural economies, and ensuring food security for millions of Americans across the country.
As Congress reauthorizes the Farm Bill, core conservation programs and new historic investments in climate and sustainable agriculture included in the Inflation Reduction Act hang in the balance. That makes this Farm Bill especially important for advancing policies that address the growing impacts of severe extreme weather disasters and nature loss.
We need a Farm Bill that invests in farmers, ranchers, and forest owners to make agriculture net zero by 2040, end habitat conversion, and reverse species decline, supporting the viability of US producers into the long term.
Sustainable food systems can be part of the solution to halt and reverse climate change and nature loss. The Farm Bill helps conserve millions of acres of farmland, grassland, wetlands, and forests on an ongoing basis, supporting wildlife habitat, improved water quality, and carbon sequestration. This is a historic opportunity to improve the sustainability of our food systems, and we need your help.
