I wanted to reach out quickly and invite you to a Public Safety Press Conference tomorrow, to sign a new bill to ban bump stocks in Philadelphia. It will be held in the Mayor’s Reception Room, Philadelphia City Hall, on Tuesday, June 18, at 3:00 p.m. Click here to RSVP, and join us at this important event.

As you know, last Friday, the United States Supreme Court overturned the federal ban on bump stocks, small devices that convert semi-automatic weapons into machine guns, making them legal by default across Pennsylvania. Here in Philadelphia, City Council and the Parker administration are working quickly to keep these weapons of mass destruction out of our city. 

We need to seize this moment and build a massive turnout, proving that Philadelphians want life-saving legislation that protects us from homemade machine guns, and addresses our ongoing crisis of gun violence.
