John,
AIPAC’s Super PAC recently spent over $10 million to flood the airwaves attacking Rep. Jamaal Bowman, who’s an outspoken advocate for Palestinians’ human rights.
The anti-Palestinian group is planning to spend $20 million to try to unseat Jamaal Bowman in his fast-approaching June 25th Democratic primary re-election to Congress.
Funded primarily by far-right billionaires, AIPAC keeps trying to bring down progressive and working-class candidates of color like Jamaal Bowman, who rely on grassroots donations rather than corporate PAC money.
Jamaal is the first Black person to represent his district. Meanwhile, his handpicked-by-AIPAC opponent is spreading racist and Islamophobic lies about Jamaal, and encouraging Republicans to switch parties to vote in the Democratic primary election.
We can’t let Republicans buy Democratic elections, and we need to keep strong advocates for human rights like Jamaal in Congress.
AIPAC undermines our democracy, including by endorsing insurrectionist Congresspeople who voted to overturn 2020’s election results.
As one of Jamaal’s campaign advisors noted, the attempt “to unseat Jamaal Bowman is heavily funded by the same Republican mega-donors who’ve spent millions to elect Donald Trump.”
Meanwhile, Jamaal is one of the strongest progressives in Congress. He is unafraid to push for the transformational policies that our communities deserve, and he understands that our basic human needs should not be treated as commodities for profit.
I’ve been proud to cosponsor Jamaal’s bills to support Black history education programs, to make a Green New Deal for public schools, to stop the racist and antisemitic “great replacement theory,” and more. Together, we’ve introduced legislation to pay musicians fairly and to secure the human right to utilities such as water and electricity.
I need Jamaal Bowman by my side in Congress, especially as too many of our colleagues continue neglecting our communities’ needs while sending billions of U.S. taxpayer dollars to bomb Gaza. Like me, Jamaal doesn’t take any money from corporate PACs, instead relying on grassroots donations.
Thank you for continuing to grow our movement for equal rights, freedom, and human dignity for all.
