Friend,
When disaster strikes, the images that capture our hearts are often those of animals in distress. It's a stark reminder that they, too, are vulnerable victims of catastrophes.
In Brazil, recent devastating floods in Rio Grande do Sul have left communities and animals in turmoil. The images and stories emerging are heartbreaking. Tragically, 140 people and an untold number of animals have lost their lives. And Sergio Vale, chief economist at MB Associations, puts this scale of economic devastation on par with Hurricane Katrina, which impacted New Orleans in 2005.
World Animal Protection Brazil is on the ground documenting the impact of these floods and partnering with GRAD Brasil and MST, two organizations providing direct relief by rescuing animals and supporting those impacted with food and basic needs. Our Brazil office is also calling out the factory farming companies that are accountable for increasing our risk of climate disasters and are demanding that they change on a global scale.
But they need our help.
In response to such devastation, World Animal Protection US has activated our Disaster Response Fund [[link removed]] . Our Fund builds on our 70-year legacy of rescuing and protecting animals affected by disasters through support for partner organizations on the ground, which provide critical aid to animals following disaster events.
Can you help those in Brazil with a donation today? [[link removed]]

Your donation will support our Brazil team’s relief efforts and help us spread the message about the devastating impact of factory farming on climate change – one of the biggest global contributors.
Friend, this rescue fund is more than a beacon of relief; it's a promise to every animal that when disaster strikes, we won't turn away. And it’s a promise that when an immediate emergency subsides, we will continue to speak up for animals. Please give now to protect animals in disasters in Brazil and beyond. [[link removed]]
