This campaign has always been about fighting for working families in rural Missouri: healthcare for all, regardless of who your employer is; the right to organize your workplace, no matter what state you live in; the right to expect responsible, ethical leadership from your elected officials; and the right to reliable internet access, strong public schools, and thriving infrastructure in our communities. We’re fighting for the rights of Missourians.

For too long, our elected leadership in this District hasn’t fought for these things. Instead, he fights for the rights of corporations to continue to gut our rural areas by denying healthcare, increasing the prices of prescription drugs, and destroying our environment. This couldn’t be more clear with Rep. Smith’s consistent votes against coronavirus relief.

It’s time for that to change.
