JOHN: have you ever heard of the "summer slump"? School's out for the summer, the weather is nice, people head out on vacation, and our fundraising numbers always take a dip.

This slowdown in fundraising is a big deal for a grassroots campaign like ours because a lot of what we raise comes from emails just like this one.

With the public FEC deadline right around the corner, this is bad news. We didn't expect the "summer fundraising slump" to start this early. And with the GOP announcing that they're spending $4.3 million in ads this fall, we're at serious risk of falling vulnerable to far-right attacks.

This could spell huge trouble for us down the road, because the fate of a Democratic House majority will come down to our race here in the Tenth District.
