Register to vote today to make your
voice heard in November

On November 5, Virginians will have the opportunity to vote in the general and special elections for President, a U.S. Senate seat, 11 U.S. House of Representatives seats and – in some areas – “down-ballot” offices. Faithful citizenship reminds us to take an active part in public life through our voice and our vote.

If you will be 18 or older on November 5, we encourage you to register to vote, or update your data. Please see below for important deadlines for registration/updates and to request an absentee ballot.

To VOTE on Tuesday, November 5, 6:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m. (General Election)

Can’t make it on Election Day?

  • Request Absentee Ballot online, by mail, email, or fax by: 5:00 p.m, October 25, 2024.
  • Request Emergency Absentee Ballot by appearing in person at your local registrar’s office by: 5:00 p.m. Nov. 4, 2024. (Certain restrictions apply.)
  • In-person early voting at your local registrar’s office begins on Sept. 20, 2024 and ends on Nov. 2, 2024 at 5:00 p.m. This includes weekdays during that period and the last two Saturdays (Oct. 26 and Nov. 2).
  • Be sure to check your local registrar’s website for more details.

We will provide voter education resources in the coming months. In the meantime, please share this information about voter registration, early voting and absentee ballots with your family members and friends now, so they will be prepared to participate in these important elections.
