Leftist Lawmakers Target Heritage’s Project 2025

Scary: A half dozen House lawmakers announced a task force to stop Project 2025—the Heritage-led coalition to prepare the next administration for successful conservative governance.

  • Project 2025 has produced a 900-page policy guide, “Mandate for Leadership,” authored by dozens of conservative groups, as well as a growing personnel database, training courses, and a 180-day playbook for the next administration.
  • The lawmakers, all far-left Democrats, describe Project 2025 as “a dystopian plot,” a “radical roadmap,” a “blueprint for destroying democracy,” and various other pejoratives.
  • In response, Heritage President Dr. Kevin Roberts said: “The Left is in a frenzy because, for the first time, more than 110 conservative organizations are uniting to provide personnel and policy solutions that prioritize the American people’s best interests.”
  • Project 2025 has generated widespread coverage in corporate media and is a hot topic on social media. Mandate for Leadership has been downloaded more than 1 million times.

After Trump Conviction, It’s Open Season on Former Presidents

You’re fired: The conviction of former President Donald Trump opened a Pandora’s box for rampant political prosecutions on both sides of the political aisle.

  • “President Trump's enemies have been so busy celebrating his conviction...that they don’t seem to realize what a double-edged sword they’ve unsheathed,” write John Yoo, professor of law at the University of California at Berkeley, and Heritage Senior Legal Fellow Charles “Cully” Stimson.

Public School Gender Policies That Exclude Parents Are Unconstitutional

Family first: More than 1,000 school districts across the nation have formal policies that allow them to withhold gender-related information about students from parents.

  • “Parents must act now to force school districts to change these policies, urge state legislatures to prohibit them, and, if necessary, to defend their rights in court,” write Heritage Senior Legal Fellows Sarah Parshall Perry and Thomas Jipping.

Brookings School Choice Study Deserves an ‘F’

Sloppy: A recent report from the Brookings Institution claims that families participating in Arizona’s education savings account program are disproportionately wealthy. The catch?

  • The study ignores Arizona's other, longstanding, tax-credit scholarship aimed at low-income families.
  • “Brookings was probably not intending to deceive, but at the very least, their failure to mention [this program] is sloppy,” writes Heritage Research Fellow Jason Bedrick.

Is America Prepared for a ‘Pearl Harbor’ in Space?

To infinity and… Space is the final frontier in modern warfare. The modern military relies on GPS satellites, unprotected in the case of an attack.

  • “The benefits of striking first are so great—and the consequences of being the target of such a strike are so grave—that brittleness in space incentivizes first strikes and is therefore destabilizing,” write Research Fellow Robert Peters and Policy Advisor Wilson Beaver.

Fight Back Against Biden’s Firearm Fiasco

When not going after gun owners, the Biden administration is now attacking American firearms manufacturers.

  • A new interim final rule by the U.S. Department of Commerce threatens to suffocate gun manufacturers with red tape that would prevent civilians in other countries from lawfully buying American-made firearms.
