Swiss Conference Says Ukraine’s “Territorial Integrity” Must Be Foundation for Peace With Russia
Associated Press: Nearly 80 countries called Sunday for the “territorial integrity” of Ukraine to be the basis for any peace agreement to end Russia’s two-year war, though some key developing nations at a Swiss conference did not join in. The way forward for diplomacy remains unclear. The joint communique capped a two-day conference marked by the absence of Russia, which was not invited. Many attendees expressed hope that Russia might join in on a road map to peace in the future. The all-out war since President Vladimir Putin’s invasion of Ukraine in February 2022 has killed or injured hundreds of thousands of people, unsettled markets for goods like grain and fertilizer, driven millions from their homes and carved a wedge between the West — which has sanctioned Moscow — and Russia, China and some other countries. About 100 delegations, mostly Western countries, attended the conference that was billed as a first step toward peace ( Associated Press).

TikTok Ad Moderator Wishes to Make October 7 an International Holiday Celebrating “Death to Zionists”
Jerusalem Post: A TikTok ad moderator has been posting inciting, vile remarks on social media, wishing death to Zionists and calling to make October 7 an international holiday. Zeina Ismail, a Lebanon-born and Ireland-based ad moderator at TikTok, has been seen posing with flags of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine. The PFLP, which participated in the October 7 massacre and is responsible for multiple plane hijackings, mass shootings, and cold-blooded assassinations of Israelis throughout the years, is designated as a terror group by the US, EU, Israel, and others. Ismail’s posts with the flags included commenting “burn them all!!” to news of trying to set fire to the Israeli embassy in Mexico City, as well as promoting “resistance by all means necessary,” a euphemism known to mean urging armed struggle against Israel. The organization said in response: “TikTok does not tolerate antisemitism on our platform or in the workplace and takes any allegations extremely seriously. We have been investigating this issue but cannot comment further while the investigation is ongoing” ( Jerusalem Post).

CNN Confirms Rules for Presidential Debate
Fox News: CNN has finalized the rules for the first presidential debate of the 2024 election cycle, which is less than two weeks away. The campaigns of President Biden and former President Donald Trump have agreed to the rules, CNN said on Saturday, noting that it is not “impossible” for independent candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr. to join the pair on stage. To qualify for the CNN showdown, a candidate must have received 15% support in four separate national polls, and be on the ballot in enough states to reach 270 electoral college votes. Currently, Kennedy is on the ballot in six states, totaling 89 potential Electoral College votes. The 90-minute debate, scheduled to take place on June 27 in Atlanta, will be hosted by CNN’s Jake Tapper and Dana Bash. It will be the first in-person face off between Biden and Trump since they stood alongside one another on debate stages during the 2020 cycle ( Fox News).

Gavin Newsom Sends Resources to Southern Border, Blames Republicans for Immigration Crisis
Daily Wire: California Governor Gavin Newsom was called out this week by border reporters after he went to the U.S.-Mexico border and claimed that he has deployed resources to deal with President Joe Biden’s border crisis. The stunt comes as estimates suggest that more than 10 million illegal aliens have entered the U.S. under the administration due to its open border policies. Newsom blamed Biden’s border crisis on the Republican Party, claiming that Republicans were depriving officials of the resources that they need to solve the problem even though Republicans have noted that many of the proposals put forth by Democrats will actually make the problem worse ( Daily Wire). Governor Newsom: California has doubled our National Guard at the border that are working to stop the flow of fentanyl. While the GOP play games and Mike Johnson searches for his spine — we’re out here doing the work ( X).

Authorities Arrest Illegal Immigrant for Raping, Murdering of Mother of Five
National Review: Police arrested 23-year-old illegal immigrant, Victor Antonio Martinez Hernandez, on Friday and charged him with the rape and murder of Rachel Morin, a mother-of-five who was brutally killed on a hiking trail last year. Morin went missing in August after going for a walk along the Ma & Pa Trail in Maryland’s Harford County. Investigators believe that the suspect attacked Morin and dragged her into a drainage culvert, where he murdered her. DNA evidence at the crime scene connected the suspect to a 2023 home invasion in Los Angeles, in which he assaulted a 9-year-old girl. Authorities found Hernandez in Tulsa, Oklahoma, and issued his arrest warrant on Friday ( National Review). End Wokeness: SAY HER NAME: Rachel Morin, 37 year old mother of 5 children (Maryland). Biden’s $320 Million Pier in Gaza Temporarily Moved to Israel
Daily Caller: A $230 million floating pier the Biden administration constructed on the Gaza coast to deliver humanitarian aid will temporarily be removed to prevent damage from high seas, U.S. officials announced. President Joe Biden’s promised pier has been marred by logistical problems, security concerns and weather-related setbacks since it became operational mid-May. Now, the military says the pier will be temporarily towed to Israel to protect it during a period of “expected high seas,” after which it will “be rapidly re-anchored to the coast of Gaza” ( Daily Caller). Times of Israel: Aid began arriving via the US-built pier on May 17, and the UN said it transported 137 trucks of aid to warehouses, some 900 metric tons, before the US announced on May 28 that it had suspended operations so repairs could be made ( Times of Israel).

GOP Pursues AG Garland for Concealing Audio Tapes of President Biden
Associated Press: Speaker Mike Johnson said Friday that the House will go to court to enforce the subpoena against Attorney General Merrick Garland for access to President Joe Biden’s special counsel audio interview, hours after the Justice Department refused to prosecute Republicans’ contempt of Congress charge. In a letter to Johnson earlier Friday, a Justice Department official cited the agency’s “longstanding position and uniform practice” to not prosecute officials who don’t comply with subpoenas because of a president’s claim of executive privilege ( Associated Press). Daily Wire: Attorney General Merrick Garland is withholding audio of President Joe Biden’s special counsel interview to protect the White House from a potentially embarrassing story, according to George Washington University law professor Jonathan Turley. Turley appeared on Fox News’ “Hannity” on Friday and told guest host Kayleigh McEnany that House Republicans are right to pursue Garland on his refusal to hand over the audiotapes ( Daily Wire).

Los Angeles City Removes “No U-Turn” Sign Claiming It Is Anti-LGBT
Fox News: Officials this week removed the last traffic signs from a Los Angeles neighborhood to cleanse the area of its anti-gay past. The signs that read “No cruising. No U-turns. Midnight to 6 am” were posted around the Silver Lake neighborhood in 1997, with the intent to curb gay men from roaming the streets to hook up, The Los Angeles Times reported. Just in time for PRIDE month, the signs were retired this week ( Fox News). Libs of TikTok: LA City just took down a couple “no U-turn” traffic signs in Silver Lake, California because the signs are anti-LGBTQ. You literally can’t make this up. Beyond parody ( X). Riley Gaines: The best part of this is that literally *no one* would know ‘no u-turn’ signs have ever meant anything other than no u-turn. I’ve never seen a group that so desperately WANTS to be “oppressed” or “marginalized” ( X).
