2,300+ people died from COVID-19 yesterday.

We know that this virus hits seniors and people with disabilities the hardest. But that hasn’t stopped Republicans from calling for an end to measures that are preventing the spread of COVID-19.

Just yesterday, Sen. John Kennedy (R-LA) said we need to end stay at home orders, even though it means that the virus will spread faster.¹

We’re hearing cries to lift “stay at home” orders from Republicans from the Texas Lt. Governor to the President. They are asking for seniors to die to protect the stock market. We can’t let that happen.

Donald Trump’s administration has treated seniors terribly. From spending the first year of his term trying to destroy Medicare and Medicaid, to putting Big Pharma executives in charge of the Department of Health and Human Services, to now calling for defunding and destroying Social Security.

What this crisis has laid bare is that Wall Street is fully willing to sacrifice older Americans at the altar of their profits. It’s up to us to stop them.
