Send your message urging Congress to make voting safe for all and safeguard our democracy.
Friend –
The Wisconsin primary showed us that some politicians are willing to use anything, even a global pandemic, to keep people from voting. They've already left so many with an impossible choice: exercise our fundamental right or protect our health.
That's inexcusable. Congress must act now to make voting safe and accessible.
Send an urgent message demanding that Congress require states to provide no-excuse mail-in absentee voting and expanded early voting in the next relief package. <[link removed]>
Immediately after the Wisconsin primary, the ACLU sent a letter urging Congress to do the following to safeguard our democracy:
1. A federal requirement that all states offer no-excuse mail-in absentee voting to every eligible voter
2. A federal requirement that all states institute a minimum early in-person voting period of 14 days, including at least one Saturday and one Sunday
3. $4 billion in federal funding made available immediately to states, counties, and municipalities
4. An additional $4 million to the U.S. Election Assistance Commission for increased administration and additional state support
Congress needs to hear from all of us now. A functioning democracy doesn't take the backseat during a pandemic – just the opposite: We must hold our elected leaders accountable, now more than ever.
Help safeguard our democracy during the pandemic. Send your message to Congress now. <[link removed]>
Thanks for taking action,
