John, I’m about to ask you for $14 before Father’s Day ends at midnight. But first, please allow me to explain what’s at stake. >>
I’ve held many titles throughout my life.
Small businessman. Public servant. Congressman.
But first and foremost, I’m “Dad” to these three beautiful kids.
My greatest mission is for my kids to grow up in a world that is better, more just, and filled with more opportunity than mine was.
If you’re a parent, I have no doubt you feel exactly the same way.
And frankly, I refuse to sit by and do nothing knowing that extreme Republicans are fighting to cut the programs that support our families.
I refuse to settle for a system that too often defines our kids’ future by their zip code, their economic class, or their skin color.
I believe every kid should have the opportunity to succeed, no matter what circumstances they’re born into.
That’s exactly why I first ran for Congress — and why I’m running again to keep up the fight.
John, I’m running for my family, and yours. I’m fighting for your family as though it were my own. But I can’t do it alone. I set an ambitious goal to raise 500 gifts before Father’s Day ends at midnight, and it would mean so much if I could count on your $14. Will you step up? >>
John, I don’t like asking for money, but this isn’t about me.
It’s about doing everything in my power to create a better future for our kids.
That means I need to plug every budget gap, fund every corner of this campaign, and give our vision the chance it deserves to succeed.
I hope I can count on your $14 before midnight tonight:
Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to share my story,
Raja
Raja represents Illinois in Congress.
The son of Indian immigrants, Raja grew up for a time on food stamps and in public housing. He knows the struggles countless Americans face every day.
Now, Raja is leading the fight in Congress on prescription drugs, climate change, election reform, and a more inclusive economy.
But Republican special interests are funnelling cash to defeat strong Democrats like Raja.
He's counting on grassroots supporters to keep this campaign running strong.
Can we count on you to chip in $10 so Raja can keep up the good fight in Congress?
