It’s Father’s Day, John, and today I wanted to share what it means to me to be a dad.

I can honestly say one of the things that I am proudest of in my life is being a father. And as I watch my son grow up, my greatest hope for him is that the world we’re creating will allow him to lead a successful life.

But this past year, we’ve seen some tremendous challenges that make me worried for his future. From the accelerating consequences of climate change to relentless attacks on reproductive rights, social justice and economic equality, our communities are facing unprecedented hurdles that demand progressive solutions. 

That’s why Run for Something's work to encourage more fathers with progressive values and parents to run for office is so important to me. By putting more parents across gender identities in power, we can see greater contributions to positive, progressive change for future generations.
