John, my family made the American dream a reality.
|
My grandfather was born in Mexico and came to the United States for a shot at the American dream. He proudly served our country in WWII and then settled in Nevada to raise a family. My family taught me to work hard, be honest and respect everyone.

Dad was Las Vegas’ greatest advocate, and he had a vision to transform our city into the international destination that we know today. I grew up watching him lend an ear, open his heart and help as many people as he could in our community. He’s who inspired me to get into public service.

Only in America could the granddaughter of an immigrant go on to become the first Latina ever elected to the U.S. Senate. My story is one of strength and community, and it's why I fight so hard in the Senate for Nevadans. With Republicans in control of the House, the Senate is our last line of defense on critical issues like reproductive freedom, Social Security and Medicare. But our majority is hanging by a thread, and we all need to do our part to protect it.

I'm personally asking for your help, John: Please, will you donate $5 or more right now so I can help defend our Democratic Senate majority?

Thank you for taking the time to listen to my story. My family taught me that we can accomplish hard things if we have the vision and determination to make it possible – and I know that remains true for our fight for Senate control.

¡La lucha sigue! The fight continues!
