What membership means at Food & Water Action. All gifts matched!
Hi John,
I had no idea about the problems toxic factory farm waste caused until an NPR story opened my eyes.
I was appalled to learn how factory farms treat animals and how their waste is polluting the land, water, and air in surrounding communities, populated mainly by people of color and lower-income individuals.
I immediately became a Food & Water Action member because of their work and effectiveness in the fight to stop factory farms. I’ve been a member ever since. I know firsthand how giving to Food & Water Action makes a big difference!
Together Food & Water Action members have helped power:
The defeat of North Carolina’s terrible “ag-gag” law,
A successful lawsuit challenging Colorado’s lax standards for their factory farm Clean Water Act permit;
The passage of a factory farm regulation bill in Oregon — a first for the state;
An Environmental Protection Agency proposal for new water pollution control standards for slaughterhouses and rendering facilities.
And that’s just over the last year!
The future we want won’t be shaped by cynics and skeptics. It’ll be shaped by people like you and me — those who believe it’s possible to beat back the entrenched agents of the status quo.
Your gift and membership advances Food & Water Action’s ability to address urgent issues now while powering long-term plans to create a world with sustainable food, clean water, and a livable climate.
Food & Water Action and its affiliated organization, Food & Water Watch, are advocacy groups with a common mission to protect our food, water and climate.
