Greetings #Team Alsobrooks!
Another great week on the campaign! Thank you to everyone who showed up and showed out to support us.
In case you missed it, here’s what’s been happening for the past week on the campaign trail and beyond:
Angela was honored to be endorsed by Vice President Kamala Harris when they came together for an event to discuss our country’s obligation to address the gun violence epidemic, and their work to keep all communities safe. Thank you to Senator Chris Van Hollen, Governor Wes Moore, Lt. Governor Aruna Miller, Comptroller Brooke Lierman, Representative Glenn Ivey, and gun violence activists for joining us and providing thoughtful words on this issue.
The Capital Jazz Fest was fired up! Thank you Howard County Executive Calvin Ball for the invite to join a day filled with good music, energy, and family fun. Shoutout to Kindred the Family Soul and Raheem DeVaughn for the great show!
We had a fantastic day in Mountain Maryland, and kicked off the morning having coffee with Cumberland Mayor Morriss, and Councilmembers Marchini, Frazier and Cioni. Cumberland needs to keep a champion in the Senate, and Team Alsobrooks will be proud to work with local leaders to achieve the goals of Western Marylanders.
It was an honor to attend the ribbon cutting for the Madison Paige Boutique, a woman-owned business in the historic Rosenbaum Building! This project was recently redeveloped into a multi-use commercial and residential space and has helped turn this community into a thriving hub for small businesses here in the business district, including Basecamp Coffee and Madison Paige! If you’re in Cumberland, check it out!
We had a great walking tour of the Cumberland downtown business district! There are some awesome small businesses here including Curtis’ Famous Weiners and Wheelzup Adventures!
We received a warm welcome in Garrett County! Great to be with the Garrett County Democrats in Oakland, talking about how we are going to keep Maryland blue in November.
Great to see Mayor Sauder at the Oakland Summerfest for the last stop on our Mountain Maryland trip. Before leaving, we stopped by the Mountain Fresh Farmers Market where we had a wonderful time meeting Marylanders and trying fresh produce and local products that make Mountain Maryland great!
It was an honor joining the congregation at First Baptist Church of District Heights for Sunday Service. Thank you to Pastor Dr. Bobby Manning for the invitation and the warm welcome.
