Conservatives have set up a “choose your own adventure” style tactic of enacting their agenda through the courts. They spin up reasons to file cases in jurisdictions where a MAGA judge determines the outcome of the case and rules in their favor which ensures that they get the results they want. In the event of an appeal, they also have the MAGA Supreme Court as a backstop.

Our polling shows that 88 percent of Americans think judge shopping shouldn’t be allowed. This carefully orchestrated practice is how we wound up where we are now with year after year of decisions that strip us of our fundamental rights. It’s no coincidence that we’ve seen more controversial cases since Trump was elected go through the Court. We need to fight back.
