Playing, exploring and getting messy are all things most
kids love. But in this time of COVID-19, with closed schools plus new
rules for social distancing, hygiene and travel — kids (and adults!) are
facing feelings of disappointment, loneliness and frustration. We may even
experience a sense of grief around the loss of everyday things (and major
milestones) we’re missing.

Paola (9) and her family are among many Venezuelans forced to flee to
Colombia. Mercy Corps helps meet families’ urgent needs and is now
distributing hygiene kits in response to COVID-19.
Kids can often inspire us with their resilience, but they are also
especially vulnerable when big changes happen and uncertainty persists.
From the aftermath of natural disasters and complex crises worldwide,
Mercy Corps team members and advisors have decades of expertise when it
comes to helping children, youth, parents and caregivers in crisis.
