Jill Stein for President

Friend

The climate emergency is accelerating at a terrifying pace. All the signs of a deepening crisis are around us.

May 2024 marked 12 straight months of the highest temperatures on record, and we are paying for it in every part of life.

An animated GIF showing three headlines of
climate news from May 2024. 1) A photo of a young girl doing
schoolwork on her mother’s mobile in a poverty-stricken part of
Manila. The headline is from NBC News dated May 2, 2024, which reads:
“Extreme heat forces school closures across Asia, affecting millions
of students.”. 2) A fisherman in Vietnam scoops large amounts of dead
fish out of the water with a headline from The Jakarta Post dated May
2, 2024, which reads: “Mass fish die-off in Vietnam as heatwave roasts
Southeast Asia.” 3) A woman wearing a medical mask and latex gloves
carries the corpses of several monkeys that collapsed from dehydration
and climate conditions. The headline from CNN dated May 21, 2024
reads: “Dead monkeys are dropping from Mexico’s trees in brutal heat
wave.”

Just last month…

Tens of millions of school children were forced to stay home across Asia and North Africa because their school facilities don’t have adequate air conditioning to keep up with scorching temperatures.

Untold numbers of fish – a major source of income and critical food supply – died off in Asia due to rising temperatures in our oceans, rivers, and lakes.

Dead monkeys began falling out of trees in Mexico, collapsing from dehydration and extreme temperatures, threatening extinction of an already vulnerable species.

Our planet is in the throes of a death scream. The climate emergency threatens our food supply, our housing, the delicate balance of our ecosystem – everything essential to life.

But our leaders are not acting as if there is an emergency.

I’m running for President to take the radical measures needed to ensure continued human survival. I need your help to keep us in the fight to deliver a ground shaking mandate for climate action in November.

DONATE NOW

The climate collapse most certainly disproportionately harms the Global South. Poor and working class communities have been stripped of their natural resources by imperial forces from the U.S. and Europe, deprived of the gifts that would otherwise help them survive.

But it would be the height of arrogance for Americans to believe that we cannot be similarly vulnerable to this crisis of our own making.

I’m writing to you today from Alabama, which is at the center of a weekend of record temperatures brought on by a “heat dome” parked over North America.

covering the majority of the United States over the current weekend.

The climate emergency doesn’t care how rich you are, how big your house is, or even how much political power you wield. It’s coming for all of us if we do not radically alter course.

Ours is the ONLY campaign that will be on the ballot across the country this November that can credibly challenge empire, climate deniers, and climate delayers. Will you donate today to make sure every American has the opportunity to vote for people, planet, and peace?

DONATE NOW

I’ve been fighting for climate justice my entire life because I know that change is mandatory – and I also know it is possible.

2009. She is wearing a winter parka and speaking into a megaphone.

I’ve seen people rise up and mobilize in the face of a crisis time and again. I know that the solutions are within our grasp and that we have the collective capacity to save our planet and our people.

But small thinking and baby steps will never get us there. If we want bold changes we have to demand bold leaders.

As your president, I will declare a climate emergency on DAY ONE and immediately begin mobilizing the full force of the federal government to respond to the crisis AS a crisis.

In solidarity and gratitude,

Jill
