Would you like to help address the environmental plastic crisis, spend some time outdoors interacting with lots of people and have some fun? ?If so, please consider signing up to help staff an information table at one of the 10 Fairfax County Farmers Markets participating in Plastic Free July.
The Fairfax County Park Authority has purchased compostable bags that will be distributed to each farmer and reusable bags to distribute to customers. ?They have asked 350Fairfax to partner with them to make their Plastic Free July campaign a success.
Specifically, they would like us to have volunteers staff tables where we provide information about the impact of plastics on the environment and help distribute bags. ?It would involve working at one of the markets from 8am to noon for the month of July. If we get enough volunteers we could work out a schedule to work in 2 hour shifts, or perhaps only 1 or 2 days in July.
