Julaine Appling Gives Thanks/Wrap-Up of Election
& Congratulations to WFA PAC Endorsed Candidates
Wisconsin's Spring Nonpartisan Election has come and gone. Even though we didn't get all the results we had hoped and worked for, WFA president Julaine Appling, offers the following heartfelt message: "Thank you to each of you for all you've done, in partnering with us in so many ways, from investing with us financially to doing practical things like the postcard parties, from voting to encouraging others to join you and more. We knew from the very beginning this was going to be an uphill battle. We just didn't know how much uphill. We ended up not just working against a Democratic presidential primary, but against an unprecedented virus that has created a great deal of chaos. But you made a difference and I'm going to show you that..."

We are very proud of incumbent Justice Dan Kelly who ran a tough race to keep his seat (losing to liberal Jill Karofsky) on the Wisconsin Supreme Court. From start to finish, Justice Kelly conducted his campaign with grace, humility, integrity and great fortitude. We thank his wife, Elisa, and their children for their unwavering support and dedication to this critical race.

Wisconsin Family Action PAC endorsed Paul Bugenhagen Jr was also unable to take over the seat for Court of Appeals District 2 from incumbent Lisa Neubauer. We extend our gratitude for his time and endurance as he stayed the course throughout the campaign.
Congratulations to Other WFA PAC Endorsed Candidates
A hearty congratulations to WFA PAC endorsed Chris Martinson who won the race for a seat on the New London School District and Matthew Reed who maintained his seat on the Appleton Common Council.
We are currently gearing up (yes, already!) for the November General Election and ask you to consider lending a hand RIGHT NOW by clicking HERE, scrolling down, and filling out our on-line volunteer form. WILL & WFC Call on Gov Evers for Clarification
This past Saturday, the office of US Attorney General William Barr said the AG is monitoring government regulation of religious services, indicating social distancing policies must be applied evenhandedly and not single out religious organizations. The spokesperson said people can expect action from the Department of Justice this week. Relatedly, the Wisconsin Institute for Law and Liberty (WILL) and Wisconsin Family Council (WFC) last week publicly called on Governor Evers to clarify whether or not drive-in church services were permitted under his stay-at-home order.
This idea of selective enforcement was exactly the point made last week to the Governor. Fortunately he clarified his order, allowing such services with appropriate social distancing. Permitting churches to do drive-in services doesn’t force any church to do so. But we believe religious freedom and fairness in applying the law is worth fighting for anytime.
Julaine Appling said, "We are grateful to WILL for quickly reminding the Governor of the legal issues and for calling on him to urgently clarify and correct this situation.”
If you learn that your community is not allowing such church services, please contact WILL immediately. If you would please notify us as well, we'd be very grateful.

Vaccinations: Fetal Tissue is NEVER the Answer
Wisconsin’s attorney general, Josh Kaul, a Democrat elected in 2018, has joined with fifteen other attorneys general in sending a letter to President Trump and the Department of Health and Human Services calling on the Administration to end its research ban on fetal tissue, which has been in place since June 2019, as part of the nation’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic. The attorneys general argue this exemption could help scientists develop vaccines and study the virus’s impacts on pregnant women and children. California’s Attorney General is leading this effort.
However, the answer to COVID-19 doesn’t lie with fetal tissue, most of which is derived from babies who have been aborted. The Trump administration was right to ban research involving fetal tissue and should not ease the restriction now; we are very disappointed AG Kaul is pushing for this. Pro-life researchers repeatedly tell us vaccines and treatments can be researched and developed without using fetal tissue.

April is "STI Awareness Month"
Every month has a number of national recognitions. April is no exception. One of those recognitions this month is Sexually Transmitted Infections Awareness Month. Nationally, each year we have about 20 million new STI cases. In 2018, the most recent data available, Wisconsin had nearly 36,000 new STI cases reported. Over 28,000 of those cases were from people ages 15 through 29, with over twice as many women infected as men,. Geographically, Milwaukee county had by far the highest number of cases reported in the state.
STIs are decimating our young people. This isn’t an airborne virus; it’s not a seasonal illness that comes almost indiscriminately. These are infections that can be avoided and stopped. God designed physical intimacy to take place in a monogamous, life-long marriage between one man and one woman. That’s a plan that is good for us, and that’s the message young people need to hear.
