John, when it comes to our veterans, I have continually supported proposals that would bolster funding for the VA, provide job and educational opportunities for veterans, and provide support to Gold Star families.

The hard work and dedication of my office to help veterans in this district navigate the Department of Veterans Affairs and other federal agencies led to my office being named the only Purple Heart office of Distinction in the Northeast and being listed on the Purple Heart Trail.

So when House Republicans recently targeted veterans in the appropriations bill, I was beyond disappointed.

They voted to take away health care for LGBTQ+ veterans who have served our country.

They voted to remove climate resilience from the military’s list of considerations despite its assessment that climate change is among the greatest national security threats of our time.

There is no depth to which they will not sink to disrespect and attack the heroes who have defended our country.

This is just another reason why it is so important that we defend my seat in CT-05 so that we can retake the House majority and put an end to these attacks on our veterans.
