Jack, Happy Pride Month! Every Hoosier deserves the right to be who they are and love who they love openly and proudly. It's as simple as that. 

Unfortunately, conservative lawmakers in Indiana disagree. In 2023, nearly two dozen bills were filed in the legislature targeting the rights of LGBTQ+ Hoosiers. Four of those bills were passed into law, including a ban on gender-affirming care for minors and a Florida-style "Don't Say Gay" law. 

I have vehemently opposed all attempts to limit the rights of those just trying to exist as their true selves. I will continue to do so as long as I am in the legislature. Nobody should use their position as an elected official to bully already marginalized groups.
