Hi there —
Over the past few weeks, my team and I have reached out to you about voting by mail in the July 7th primary. Making sure every citizen has the right to vote is of vital importance to me.
But now, government neglect has put it at risk.
Reports broke over the weekend that the U.S. Postal Service (USPS)
could run out of funding in a matter of months, which would disenfranchise millions of voters who vote by mail.
What’s more concerning: relief funding has been repeatedly rejected by partisans in Congress. Simply put, this is a catastrophe waiting to happen.
We need to expand and protect absentee voting. That includes ensuring a future for the USPS. Sign here if you agree ⟶
Every year, millions of Americans vote absentee. Unfortunately, not every state is as accommodating. Wisconsinites had to choose between their health and their constitutional right to vote last week. We now know that tens of thousands of ballots weren’t counted.
Every New Jersey —
every American — voter should be able to vote by mail, no matter the reason or circumstance. For years, partisan hacks have argued that expanding access to the ballot would lead to widespread fraud, despite a glaring lack of evidence. What they’re really worried about is being voted out, not non-existent fraud.
This crisis shouldn’t stand in the way of anyone’s right to vote. Join me in demanding that Congress and the president protect absentee voting.
Thank you for standing with me.
Yours,
Josh
