Friend,
Twelve years ago today, our country reached a significant milestone in the fight for immigrants’ rights.
Young immigrants won Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), which consequently opened the doors for hundreds of thousands of their peers to build authentic lives, pursue careers, and give back to their communities across the United States.
It was a monumental victory that has truly transformed people’s lives for the better. While we celebrate, we must also remember: DACA’s protections were never designed to be permanent. Over the past 12 years, the need for Congress to come together and pass a pathway to citizenship has never gone away and it’s only become more urgent.
To this day, DACA recipients and their loved ones continue to live in uncertainty, their future at the mercy of ever-changing political tides and court rulings. This can’t continue. Congress must act now and pass a permanent legislative solution.
NILC has been fully invested in this battle for decades, and today, on the 12th anniversary of DACA, we need your support more than ever. Grassroots action from people like you is essential to bolster our fight and amplify our message.
Friend, will you stand with us in urging Congress to create a pathway to citizenship for DACA recipients and immigrant youth? The time for action is now — we cannot afford to wait any longer.
Together, we can build a future where immigrant youth can truly thrive in this country, which is their home.
Thank you,
— National Immigration Law Center
