Good morning!

I wanted to make sure you saw this great news out of Green Bay! Wins like this are only possible with the support of our members. I hope you’ll consider becoming a member. A gift of $10/month is a great place to start. If you can join this month, it would be really helpful for our efforts to turn out the vote in Green Bay–a critical region for both August and November. Thank you!

Hi Conservation Voters--

You did it!

On Tuesday night, the Green Bay Common Council voted 9-3 in favor of establishing two new early voting locations in Green Bay – one on the west side at Johnsonville Tailgate Village and one on the east side at St. Bernard Church!

The new locations will be open for the August election on Aug. 7, 8, and 9 from 3 to 8 p.m. as well as the November election on Oct. 29, 30, 31 and Nov. 1 from 3 to 8 p.m. We encourage residents to check the city’s clerk’s website [[link removed]] for updates and information.

First, a word of gratitude to you.
This would not have happened without your continuing support. We’ve been working toward this for years. These wins take time and resources and this wouldn’t have been possible without you.

We are thrilled for this victory. When early voting hours and locations are expanded, it leads to more options for voters to cast their ballot. It is especially important for voters with differing abilities, busy schedules, and transportation barriers. It also leads to shorter lines on Election Day and less stress on election administrators and poll workers. You probably remember seeing the long lines voters had to contend with in Green Bay in 2020. These new voting locations will help to keep that from happening again.

Local elections matter.
This is an extension of the victories you’ve already made happen in Green Bay. The renewed push for early voting expansion comes nearly two years after the previous council voted unanimously to increase early voting hours leading up to the 2022 midterm elections. We’re proud to have helped win a pro-conservation, pro-democracy majority on the Green Bay Common Council, so good policies like this could be enacted. And we’ll continue to defend and expand access to the ballot for everyone in Green Bay. Our northeastern crew is looking forward to getting the word out this summer so voters know about and use the new locations!

Voter turnout in Green Bay will be critical for defeating the proposed constitutional amendments on the ballot this August. And, there are newly competitive legislative races in the Green Bay area that are must-win seats this November as we work to build a pro-conservation majority. Making it easier for voters to get to the polls will be a big help.

Community organizing is critical.
We’re proud to have helped lead the effort to expand access to early voting alongside a wide cross section of Green Bay including our own members, League of Women Voters members, 9 to 5 Wisconsin, the Greater Green Bay YMCA, All Voting is Local, poll workers, faith leaders, labor groups, and more.

As a Green Bay resident, I personally can’t wait can't wait to snap my “I Voted” selfie with Lambeau Field in the background!

Thank you so much for your support,
Casey Hicks
