The administrative state embodies an antithetical idea of sovereignty and power. It centralizes and unifies the three branches of government into one monolith. It embodies the idea that sovereignty is derived not from the consent of the governed but from the divine right of expertise—namely, that power is the legitimate right of those who possess specialized knowledge in the mechanics of governance and economics. As a corollary, it embodies the notion that power is its own mandate for those who are intelligent and skilled enough to acquire it. Power is the private property of those wealthy enough to buy or savvy enough to secure a share, and therefore may be directed to private ends such as personal enrichment.

NOTABLE QUOTES

Brian C Joondeph contributor to American Thinker: With 17 million illegal immigrants living in America, this 25% translates to over 4 million votes, or 2.5 % of the 155 million votes cast. Four million votes in battleground states would alter the election, considering many states had a winning margin in the tens of thousands of votes. While the national polls provide a shot of adrenalin if one’s preferred candidate is leading, this is not how the next president will be chosen. Keep an eye on those battleground state poll numbers for the real state of the electorate.

Lars Møller contributor to American Thinker: Evil exists as well as good. In order to enjoy the latter, we must be courageous and fight the former. That fight is eternal. And if we think that we can ever rest and take the good for granted, we are definitely wrong and may lose everything that we have. We need to be vigilant to maintain order and human dignity around us. Ignorance, laziness, and cowardice invite tragic repetitions in human history.
