Dear john,

June is Gun Violence Awareness Month, and as we mark the midpoint in this important commemoration, I want to share the latest updates on our work to end gun violence in America:

To kick off Gun Violence Awareness Month, I introduced H.R. 8600, the Gas-Operated Semi-Automatic Firearms Exclusion (GOSAFE) Act, a common-sense proposal designed to regulate firearms based on the lethality of internal mechanisms rather than cosmetic features. To learn more about this legislation, see this press release from my office. This Thursday, I joined House Assistant Minority Leader Joe Neguse and fellow gun violence prevention leaders from across the House Democratic Caucus to talk about our ongoing efforts to advance legislation that will help save lives. This week, I was proud to speak in support of American workers during an Education and Workforce subcommittee hearing. Together with the Biden-Harris Administration, I am fighting for the right of every American to freely exercise their rights in the workplace without fear of being fired and losing their livelihood.
