Ft Worth DEI Strikes Again   The Roundup is a weekly production of the Tarrant County GOP to bring you the latest headlines on conservative victories, upcoming events, and opportunities to make a difference in Tarrant County. Help Us Stop Leftists. CLICK HERE to DONATE TODAY   March for Trump TODAY! Tarrant County's March and Rally for Donald Trump is TODAY! It will start at 1pm from the JFK Memorial in downtown Fort Worth. The updated speaker list for the rally includes: Republican Party of Texas Chairman Abraham George Congressman Roger Williams Congresswoman Beth Van Duyne Tarrant County GOP Chairman Bo French State Rep. Tony Tinderholt State Rep. Brian Harrison State Rep. Nate Schatzline Cheryl Bean Weston Martinez Tim Young This event will be huge. We hope to see you there TODAY! City Council Blocks Pride Month If you've been with us for any length of time, you know that we are the first to call out the Fort Worth City Council, which is the largest municipal body in Tarrant County. Specifically, we are the first to call out Republican Councilmen when they fail to live up to Republican principles and are always looking toward Council elections next March. Holding our elected officials accountable does mean calling them out for doing the wrong thing, but it also means we should thank and encourage them for doing the right thing, and today we are doing that. You may have noticed that this "Pride" month has been toned down compared to previous years. Sports teams, businesses, and cities have refrained from adding rainbows to their profile pictures. Tolerance for public "progress pride flag" displays is at an all-time low (thankfully). We are very proud to say that three of our Republican City Councilmen have played a role in this trend. The City Council attempted to pass a resolution celebrating and congratulating gender activists (including the child-transition supporting Finn's Place). The resolution required unanimous consent from the Council, and Republican Councilmen Alan Blaylock, Charles Lauersdorf, and Macy Hill refused to consent. Because of them, Fort Worth avoided celebrating child gender transitions this year! We have been critical of some of our Republican councilmen - and we will still do so when necessary - but we are truly thankful for these three stepping up and doing the right thing. We encourage you to call or email their offices and to show your support for this action: Charles Lauersdorf: (817) 392-8804, [email protected] Macy Hill: (817) 392-8807, [email protected] Alan Blaylock: (817) 392-8810. [email protected] Chairman Expands Voter Base As we advertised last week, Chairman French participated in a forum with Tarrant Democrat Chair Crystal Gayden, hosted by the Arlington NAACP. It was certainly not a friendly crowd, but many Republican activists showed up in support. Bo skillfully made the case that the Democrat Party does not represent the values or interests of minority voters in Tarrant County, and that now was the time to join the Republicans. He covered everything from the economy to election integrity, immigration, social issues, and more. This event comes with many pollsters and news outlets observing that minorities, particularly blacks and Hispanics are shifting in historic numbers to President Trump. For Bo's part, supporters noticed that several of the attendees present who clearly supported Gayden nodded along with Chairman French and voiced agreement after several of his statements. Chairman French is set out to bring historic Republican victories to Tarrant County this November and beyond, and part of that is by expanding the voter base. This event, though unfriendly to Republicans, was one of many steps to making that victory happen. Ft Worth Hires Affirmative Action Consultant This week we uncovered documents from Fort Worth City Council expanding the funding for the DEI Department, which we have covered extensively. The ordinance, which you can find HERE, awards $150,000 to the Department for the purpose of funding a "business equity" study. So, who are they bringing in to perform the study? The study will be performed by Colette Holt, owner of Colette Holt and Associates. The company bills itself as a consultant for "issues relating to inclusion, diversity, and affirmative action." Colette Holt is called "a nationally recognized expert in designing, implementing, and defending affirmative action programs." Her clients range from cities such as Fort Worth and Arlington to Harris County and Austin ISD, all the way up to the Department of Justice and Department of Transportation. She also consults for Seattle Children's Hospital, the hospital infamous for its "Children's Gender Clinic" which grooms and transitions young children. The Seattle Hospital also sued Attorney General Paxton for seeking records of any minors who were taken out of state for gender transition surgeries. The Supreme Court may have struck down Affirmative Action for college admissions, and the Texas Legislature may have banned DEI Departments at public universities, but DEI and Affirmative Action are still alive and well in Texas, including in our city governments. You may remember earlier this year when the news broke that JPS Health scored contract applicants based on diversity metrics, rather than competency. In Fort Worth, these metrics extend far beyond health contracts, into seemingly every contract the City takes on. Fort Worth DEI Czar Christina Brooks - who is again paid more than Governor Abbott - ensures that DEI permeates everything the city does. A search of the City of Fort Worth contracts shows that contract applicants for things as mundane as paint, such as this Sherman-Williams application, require applicants to prove their commitment to DEI. The rot goes far deeper than it seems. We hope that the Legislature will take action against these DEI measures next session. Help Us Save Steve Bannon This week the Republican-controlled House of Representatives successfully voted to hold Biden's Attorney General Merrick Garland in contempt for refusing a Congressional subpoena in February. You can read the resolution HERE. It's unclear if any charges will be brought against Garland as they have against Peter Navarro and Steve Bannon - more of that shortly. However, a pessimistic observer of the House would suggest no charges will be brought despite the resolution, since no charges were brought against Obama AG Eric Holder, despite the House passing a similar resolution. We hope that Republicans will finally learn the lesson of reciprocity and ensure Garland is charged. Speaking of Steve Bannon, we have a request for our loyal Republican supporters. Bannon is currently scheduled to report to prison on July 1st. His allies have rightly noted that the "January 6th Committee" from which he is charged with refusing a subpoena, was not created in accordance with the rules. They are asking supporters of Bannon to respectfully call Speaker Mike Johnson's office and request that he has the J6 Committee considered illegitimate, which would greatly help with an appeal for Bannon's case. If you would like to support Steve Bannon in this way, here is Speaker Johnson's info: Office Number: 202-225-2777 Office Email: Contact Form HERE Ted Cruz Opportunities   As the General Election ramps up, the Ted Cruz campaign has been incredibly active across the State, especially in Tarrant County.
