Across the country schools have been closed for weeks, and will probably remain closed for months more. This disruption is having a direct impact on countless students—and could be especially harmful for LGBTQ students.

Our current culture of social distancing poses a serious threat to LGBTQ youth. Home can be an isolating and, too often, dangerous place.

In spaces online, LGBTQ youth are more vulnerable to cyberbullying, particularly at a time when social media is one of the few ways to connect.

GLSEN staff, chapter leaders, and GSAs are working around the clock to ensure that we are able to continue to reach the more than 8 million+ LGBTQ students across the country through innovative outreach and digital advocacy. We hope to reach even more students than in the past, especially those in isolated and conservative areas who we have not been able to reach before.
