With summer in full swing, many people from our community will be traveling domestically and internationally in the coming months. To help everyone make the most of it, on Monday, July 1st, at 2pm CDT, I will be hosting a town hall with a panel of experts to discuss the best travel preparation tips and tricks and provide participants with the opportunity to ask questions of travel experts. You can RSVP for the town hall here, and I hope to see you there.

Congressman Krishnamoorthi presents Rosemont Mayor Brad Stephens with $959,752 in federal funding he secured.

On Monday, I presented the Village of Rosemont with a ceremonial check for $959,752 in federal funding I secured to upgrade the village’s sewer system. These improvements will reduce the likelihood of sewer overflows, which will improve public health standards and safety throughout the Rosemont community and surrounding areas. Due to Rosemont’s proximity to the Des Plaines River, the area is more susceptible to localized flooding. The funding I secured will ensure that Rosemont’s sewer system remains out of sight and out of mind for its residents, while keeping the community safer and healthier for everyone.

This week, the House Intelligence Committee voted overwhelmingly to approve the 2025 Intelligence Authorization Act (IAA) and send it to the floor of the House of Representatives for a full vote. As Ranking Member of the Select Committee on the Strategic Competition Between the United States and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP), I spearheaded several provisions, including measures addressing the ongoing fentanyl crisis, increasing our focus on CCP threats, and sharpening our focus on biotech threats facing our country.
My legislation presses the Director of National Intelligence to create a role for the National Intelligence Manager for Counternarcotics to battle the ongoing fentanyl epidemic, which kills more than 75,000 Americans each year, with 97 percent of the ingredients for that fentanyl originating in the People’s Republic of China, where the CCP actively subsidizes their production. Another of my provisions requires our intelligence community to investigate biotechnology-related foreign intelligence to strengthen our national security related to biotech threats.
