I hope you and your family are well! I wanted to provide you with a few updates regarding what’s going on –

YES on the FY25 NDAA

Today, I voted YES on H.R. 8070, the FY25 National Defense Authorization Act.

The NDAA should focus on ensuring our military readiness, not funding abortion and the false belief you can change your gender. That's why I supported two specific amendments to the bill to address these concerns.

The first, bans funding of transgender surgeries or gender hormone treatment for the military. The second, bans funding or reimbursement of abortion tourism—the practice of military members traveling to other states for abortions on the Federal dime.

Additionally, the bill bans Critical Race Theory teachings in all military schools, as well as fully defunds all DEI programs in the Department of Defense.

It also banned any LGBT pornographic material in any documents in any military schools—including elementary, middle, and high schools on military bases.

This bill ensures we are building a military of warfighters, not of woke, radical snowflakes.

Second Amendment Protected

Today’s Supreme Court decision to overturn the bump stock ban is a victory for the Second Amendment and protecting the rights of every American.

If the government can arbitrarily classify a firearm as a machine gun, then our rights are in jeopardy and the Constitution will be eroded.

Hunter Biden Found Guilty

Hunter Biden has been found guilty of 3 felony gun charges.

Remember, Joe Biden’s two-tiered system of justice was used in June 2023 to have federal prosecutors cut a sweetheart plea deal for Hunter to avoid prosecution on the many alleged crimes he has committed.

Because of the work of Republicans, we uncovered the nefarious plot to let Hunter get away with felonies through that plea deal.

Now, it’s time to bring Hunter and the Biden Crime Family to justice for the allegations of influence peddling.

Election Interference

There was a concerted effort to hide the truth of Hunter Biden's laptop from the American people. Now, we know without a doubt that the laptop is not Russian disinformation, but is the true story of Hunter Biden's escapades.

Now, Obama’s Director of National Intelligence James Clapper continues to lie to the American people about Hunter Biden’s laptop.

It's time we revoke his security clearance and charge him as an accessory to election interference.

Garland's Contempt of Congress

On Wednesday, I voted YES to hold US Attorney Merrick Garland in Contempt of Congress.

Garland was issued a subpoena to hand over the audio recordings of Special Counsel Hur’s interviews with Joe Biden and Mark Zwonitzer, Biden’s ghostwriter. These audio interviews showcase Biden’s possession and dissemination of classified materials.

Garland cannot be allowed to willfully deny Congressional subpoenas and interfere in Congressional oversight of the Biden Crime Family.

Pro-Hamas Rioters Strike Again

This week, Pro-Hamas rioters vandalized Layfayette Square while demanding Biden end aid to Israel.

Terrorist sympathizers are taking over our streets while the Department of Justice does nothing. A National Park Services Ranger was assaulted as he alone stood up to the mob.

Radicals firebombed Courthouses, vandalized Layfayette Square, shut down American universities, and have threatened the safety of Jewish Americans.

Yet, not one Democrat wants to investigate these terrorist sympathizers and rioters the way they investigated January 6 prisoners who they have effectively thrown in the Gulag.

Celebrating Flag Day

While the left shoves the LGBT agenda down the throats of Americans, I’m fighting back to ensure only Old Glory flies over diplomatic and consular posts worldwide.

The State Department has flown rainbow flag over our embassies overseas, while Secretary Blinken authorized all embassies and consulates to fly the BLM flag.

Now, the EPA (seen below) is flying a pride flag over its headquarters. Let me be clear, we should be flying Old Glory, military, and POW flags only on Federal buildings.

American Energy Dominance

American energy dominance just earned a huge win as the Mountain Valley Pipeline (MVP) is now approved to transport natural gas from West Virginia down to the Southeast!

MVP is a superhighway that frees up natural gas in our current pipelines to power our homes and businesses, as well as opens additional capacity in the future.

While Joe Biden stands with climate radicals to fight clean, American energy, I’m leading the Energy, Climate, and Grid Security Subcommittee to reduce emissions while leading in natural gas production.

This is the path to reliable, affordable, and clean American energy.

Let me be clear, you should not listen to the anti-fossil fuels radicals that want to decrease your quality of life. Oil and gas are natural hydrocarbons that form within the earth and generate reliable power.

Natural gas is a clean energy source that generates reliable power. In fact, America has the cleanest natural gas in the world.

Let’s use our natural resources to keep the lights on for America and to get our allies off of dirty energy sources from Russia and China.

Fighting for the Unborn

I’m disappointed in Thursday’s Supreme Court ruling that petitioners did not have standing to challenge the FDA’s policies that make abortion pills easily accessed.

It should not be easy to kill a human life, and today’s decision emboldens pro-abortion activists to continue pushing policies that kill babies.

I had joined an amicus brief to the Court urging them to restrict access to these abortion pills. Congress must act to protect the right to life for the unborn.

Border Invasion Rages On

Don’t listen to the talking points about the Border Crisis. Just look at the facts!

Under Joe Biden illegal immigrant encounters are 9.5+ million for the nation—7.8+ million at just the southern border. America is being invaded! We must build the wall.

Inflation Impact

The cost of every day goods is going up because of inflation caused by Joe Biden’s failed economic policies.

Joe Biden is forcing American’s to choose between putting food on the table and gas in their car.

I'm working daily in Congress to stop runaway spending that causes inflation, as well as working to ensure Americans can keep more of their hard-earned money in their pocket.

Many in the Third District remember the horrific shooting at Townville Elementary School 8 years ago.

This week, I visited with my friend Denise, the Principal at Townville Elementary, to discuss mental health and the hardening of schools.

It was great to hear updates on how Townville Elementary has introduced School Resource Officers and other measures to ensure the safety of students.

GO TIGERS!! It was great to visit with the Clemson Board of Visitors yesterday in Washington. We talked about my days playing football at Clemson, energy grid security, and much more.

As the only Member of Congress to attend Clemson, I’m proud to represent the Tigers in Washington every day as “the Clemson guy.”

In fact, Rep. Sessions stops by my Office all the time just to yell “Go Tigers!”

Legislative Action

I cosponsored H.R. 8720, Rep. Christopher Smith’s bill that would prohibit the preferential treatment of atheist groups under the International Religious Freedom Act of 1998 and the Foreign Assistance Act of 1961 with regards to Federal grant money.

I cosponsored H.Res. 1285, Rep. Nathaniel Moran’s resolution that condemns Biden and Biden’s FDA for loosening the restrictions on chemical abortion drugs by prioritizing abortion over the health and safety of women and girls.

I cosponsored H.J.Res. 166, Rep. Tim Walburg’s resolution that would stop the Department of Labor’s new overtime rule that puts broad and overburdensome regulation on small businesses that would hurt Americans in the long run.

I cosponsored H.J.Res. 165, Rep. Mary Miller’s resolution that reverses the Biden administrations’ new ruling that tears Title IX to shreds by allowing men to enter private women’s spaces.

In the District

My heart is with the Newberry County Sheriff’s Office who had a member of their team, K-9 Officer Coba, killed in the line of duty. While serving a felony warrant on a fugitive, the suspect began shooting at law enforcement and Coba was hit.

In an attempt to capture the attention of students to better educate them, Greenwood School District 50 has announced a ban on the use of cellphones by students from the time they arrive on campus till the end of the school day. Exceptions are made only for medical emergencies.
