As we celebrate Flag Day, I am filled with a deep sense of pride and gratitude for our nation's symbol of freedom and unity, my friend.

As you know, Flag Day falls on June 14th and marks the anniversary of the adoption of the Stars and Stripes as the official flag of the United States. But, we have something even more special to be proud of here in the Badger State.

That's because the very first Flag Day was held here in Waubeka, Wisconsin in 1885!

Wisconsinites know that our flag is more than just a piece of fabric; it embodies the spirit of America.

Our 13 stripes symbolize the original colonies that fought for our independence, while the 50 stars represent the states that make up our great nation.

As we honor our flag today, let us also reflect on the unity and strength it represents and remember that we are all part of a larger story, one that is continually shaped by our collective efforts to build a Republic based on liberty and justice.
